2. Overview

You can use this website without telling us anything about yourself. Processing your IP address and some browser data is technically necessary to deliver the pages. Beyond that, we only use services that set cookies or pass data to third parties (Google AdSense, Google Analytics) if you have agreed to this in our consent banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by a hosting provider in the European Union. When a page is requested, the server automatically stores information in log files: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, the referring URL, browser and operating system. These data are used to run the website securely and reliably and to fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are deleted after a short time, at the latest after 14 days, unless they are needed to investigate a security incident. We have a data processing agreement with the hosting provider under Art. 28 GDPR.

4. Consent, cookies and your settings

For advertising and audience measurement, we use Google’s consent management platform, which is certified under the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF). On your first visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the banner asks for your consent. Your choice is stored in a cookie so we do not have to ask again on every page.

The legal basis for storing and reading information on your device is § 25(1) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) together with your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Storage that is technically necessary under § 25(2) TDDDG is exempt.

5. Google AdSense

We show ads from Google AdSense. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure their effectiveness and, if you agree, tailor ads to your interests. Your IP address, device and browser information and details of your use of this and other websites may be processed in the process.

Without your consent, Google shows at most non-personalised ads, based only on the content of the current page and your approximate location. Technically necessary data may be processed for these as well.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Data may be transferred to the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. 6. Google Analytics 4

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service from Google Ireland Limited. Google Analytics uses cookies and records how visitors use the website, such as which pages they view and for how long. From this, Google produces aggregated reports for us that help us improve the website.

Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. We use Google’s Consent Mode: as long as you have not agreed, no Analytics cookies are set. The data are deleted after the retention period set in Google Analytics, at most 14 months. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. We have a data processing agreement with Google. Data may be transferred to the USA, and Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

7. Amazon Associates programme

DIN-Formate.info takes part in the affiliate programme of Amazon Europe Core S.à r.l., 38 avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg. Some pages contain links to products on Amazon. If you buy something through such a link, we receive a commission. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

No data are sent to Amazon when our pages load. Only when you click an Amazon link are you taken to Amazon’s website, where Amazon sets cookies to attribute the purchase to our partner account. We receive no personal data, only aggregated sales reports. Amazon is responsible for processing on amazon.de, see Amazon’s privacy notice.

8. Fonts and external content

All fonts are hosted on our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other font provider when a page loads. We do not embed external content such as videos or maps.

9. Calculators and search

The calculators on this website run entirely in your browser. What you enter is not sent to us. Site search queries are sent to our server to find matching pages, but are not stored, apart from the usual server log files (section 3).

10. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your details to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete the message once the enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.

11. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)), for example via the privacy settings.

You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, lda.bayern.de.

We update this privacy policy when the website or the law changes. Last updated: October 2026.
