B2 in a 50 × 70 cm frame
A B2 poster fills a 50 × 70 cm frame almost completely. The extra 7 mm in height disappear under the rebate. An A2 poster at 420 × 594 mm looks lost in the same frame and needs a mount with an A2 window. If you print yourself and have the choice, B2 is the better fit for a 50 × 70 cm frame.
Japanese film posters
In Japan, B2 is the standard size for cinema posters, as familiar there as the one sheet is in the US. They are printed in the JIS size of 515 × 728 mm, though. A Japanese original is therefore 15 mm wider and 21 mm taller than ISO B2 and will not simply drop into a 50 × 70 cm frame. Collectors look for frames made specifically for Japanese B2 or have one made to measure.
