B9 is a size for small things, and most people know it from board games without realising. Many games use mini cards of 41 × 63 mm (Mini American) or 44 × 68 mm (Mini European). B9 sits right between them: as wide as Mini European but 6 mm shorter.

Why B9 does not divide A4 evenly
A9 fits on A4 exactly 32 times, because A9 is A4 halved five times. B9 comes from the B series and does not divide A4 evenly. Without bleed, 19 pieces fit on A4: 16 in a 4 × 4 grid and three more turned sideways in the leftover strip. For larger quantities a press sheet that suits B sizes is the better choice.
| Sheet | Without bleed | With 3 mm bleed and 5 mm margin |
|---|---|---|
| A4 (210 × 297 mm) | 19 | 16 |
| A3 (297 × 420 mm) | 42 | 32 |
| SRA3 (320 × 450 mm) | 50 | 36 |
