B1 and the 70 × 100 cm poster
Frames, snap frames and poster stands are easy to find in 70 × 100 cm. A B1 print is only 7 mm wider, and the height is the same. In most frames those millimetres disappear under the rebate, the lip on which the glass and backing board rest. If you want a perfect fit, ask the printer to trim the poster to 700 × 1000 mm.
What B1 is used for
- Posters and art prints for 70 × 100 cm frames
- Displays in cinemas, theatres and at trade fairs
- Advertising posters in Japan, there in the slightly larger JIS size of 728 × 1030 mm
- Presentation posters for stands and snap frames
A note on Japanese originals: a JIS B1 poster is 21 mm wider and 30 mm taller than ISO B1 and no longer fits a 70 × 100 cm frame.
