Designing on a small area
On a 37 mm wide piece every millimetre counts. Keep text at least 2 to 3 mm from the edge and do not go below 6 pt, or it becomes unreadable in print. Then there is cutting tolerance: ISO 216 allows 1.5 mm either way for sizes up to 150 mm. On A4 that hardly shows, on A9 it is 4 % of the width. A fine border right at the edge therefore quickly looks crooked.
