D10 next to A10
The calculation runs out at D10. It would be the geometric mean of A10 (26 × 37 mm) and a B11 that was never standardised. On paper, B11 would be 22 × 31 mm. D10 relates to A10 just like every other D size: sides about 8 % shorter, roughly 85 % of the area.
Cutting D10 from A10
You cannot buy D10 paper ready-made. The easiest way is to trim an A10 sheet: 2 mm off the width and 3 mm off the height. With pieces this small, a craft knife, a steel ruler and a cutting mat are more accurate than scissors.
How many D10 pieces fit on a sheet?
| Sheet | Without bleed | With 3 mm bleed and 5 mm margin |
|---|---|---|
| A4 (210 × 297 mm) | 72 | 45 |
| A3 (297 × 420 mm) | 148 | 91 |
| SRA3 (320 × 450 mm) | 169 | 110 |
