D7 between A7 and B8
D7 is the geometric mean of A7 (74 × 105 mm) and B8 (62 × 88 mm). Its sides are about 8 % shorter than those of A7, and its area is 84 % of A7. The step from D7 up to A7 is the same as the step from A7 up to C7.
Cutting D7 from A7
You cannot buy D7 paper ready-made. The easiest way is to trim an A7 sheet: 6 mm off the width and 9 mm off the height. A paper trimmer does it in two cuts.
D7 and card sizes
| Card | Size |
|---|---|
| German business card | 55 × 85 mm |

| D7 | 68 × 96 mm |
| A7 | 74 × 105 mm |
| Tarot card | 70 × 120 mm |
D7 fills the gap between a playing card and A7. It is a pleasant size for home-made cards with a bit more room for text, though you will not find sleeves for it off the shelf.
